Troy went on a 3 day camping trip with friends last weekend and had a blast. They hiked 25 miles of the Pinhoti trail outside of Talladega, AL (about an hour east of B'ham). He said the trail was hard but the views were worth it. They are planning a trip in the fall to pick up where they left off.

Troy said the birds were flying below them in this picture - that's how high they were.

The Pinhoti marker that directed the path

One night's campsite
"He who forms the mountains,
creates the wind,
and reveals his thoughts to man,
he who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads the high places of the earth—
the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is his name"
Amos 4:13
Wilson was in the same place with some youth last Wed thru Sat!! I just showed him the pics and he said they even stayed at the same campsite! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteWilson's group was small - only 6, I think. He said they didn't really see many people when they were there. Maybe they were just a day or two ahead of Troy.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, Wilson is already counting down the days when we can take a family trip! I'm already getting nervous!! :)
it's hard to believe that in that part of Alabama there are spots that high...I am sure the views were breath-taking.
ReplyDeleteI will ad your family blog to my list too! Yeah!
Love to you and Troy!

ReplyDeleteI almost came by your house a few weekends ago. We were at my mom's, up at Thames playing. I didn't see your car, so I wasn't sure if yall still lived there or not. But, now that I saw Troy trimming the trees...I know yall still do. I love your clothes. Hope your knee is feeling better
