Our next stop...Viking Cooking School
We had a great time in our cooking class. Our teacher, Mary Helen, was wonderful so if you ever go see if she is teaching the class. The other couple were our teammates. They were so sweet and we laughed a lot!
We made a great cherry salad, crab cakes with avocado salsa, butterfly panko crusted shrimp...
and Troy's favorite was the beef! We had the most wonderful beef tenderloin EVER! The men cooked it perfectly!
Of course my favorite was the creme brule...Troy is torching it for me.

We decided that when we build one day we will just tell our builder to 'build it like the Viking kitchen in Greenville." HA! It was HUGE and fabulous!
The next stop....after a scrumptious Alluvian breakfast...was the SPA for couples massages. All I can say is DIVINE!
We couldn't be that close to the famous 'DOE'S EAT PLACE' and not drive over for more beef! It definitely lived up to its reputation. The steaks are HUGE and melt in your mouth. When the waitress gave us the options and they were in pounds...not ounces...Troy looked at me and smiled ear to ear (really...no options UNDER 2 LBS!).

On top of that we had the best seat in the house...in the kitchen. They said it's the 'family table.' Troy quickly made friends with the cooks and they snuck us key chains, flyers and ice cream sandwiches for the ride home (not like you can fit anything else after two pounds of meat, tamales, salad, french fries)
Sunday morning....after ANOTHER fabulous Alluvian breakfast....we headed the long way home through Yazoo City. My mom's mother, Mimi, grew up in Yazoo. Her family owns Pluto Plantation just north of Yazoo on Bee Lake. I have grown up hearing stories of Bee Lake and Pluto so we planned to check it out. It was really beautiful land. I have been to the delta before but I did not remember it being so relaxing and quite. We drove for miles without seeing a house on the side of the road then we would drive through a small community followed by more fields.

then we found Pluto...the homestead
The Thompson family now farms catfish and I have to say they keep a beautiful farm. For fear of stalking we didn't take too many pictures but we drove very slow and I could just image my Mimi (and my mother as a child) playing in the fields.

I'm so glad y'all had such a wonderful trip! Hope to see you Thursday! Anna
