I wanted her room to be 'babyish' without being too much. We knew we would be moving so I didn't make the investment (bc it's a true investment) in drapes. I wanted an ikat fabric but after spending like 50 hours and lots of gasoline, I gave up. I did find this ikatish fabric in Madison. It had a little pink that we pulled out in small doses.
The chair is from Wal-Mart. I didn't want to invest $1000+ in the chair of my dreams bc so many people said they only used a glider for a short time. I'm glad I listened because MB doesn't like to be rocked at all (she prefers you walk...and walk...and walk...). I think the TOTAL for the chair and slipcover was like $350. Troy assembled it one night and here ya go! We were really impressed overall. Troy is 6'1" so I wanted something with a high back and this chairs back was higher than most all gliders from Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and our local store. Enough about the chair...
The changing table is a dresser. Mom and dad made a changing pad frame that just sits on top. It's a little heavy for a little girl's nursery but has great storage and was the perfect height (I didn't want Troy to have to bend over at all).
The animal prints are from www.art.com. The have a small pink matte then cream with a tiny gold frame. I can change the pink matte out to green or blue if I ever need a little man's nursery. The table has very special things on it... a picture of my mom and Aunt Brownie when they were 2 and 4 at Easter in outfits my grandmother made them...a vase my grandmother Kent bought for MB...and a box that Grace made for my baby shower. It holds the special advice notes that people wrote to us along with special things like MB's hospital bracelet, a CD of her being brought out to the family and much more.
The bedding credit all goes to my mom! The bed has been passed down through Troy's family. My mom sewed the skirts and MADE the bumper pads and covers (side bumpers were taken out after a few months). I wish you could see the detail. She sewed like 26 yards of piping! She put industrial zippers on the bottom of each pad so we could wash them. We used a thick white cotton with a diamond pattern. The ties on each end made the most perfect bows. She sure does love her MB! It a labor of love in the truest sense of the word!

hey emily! mb is so precious, and i love her nursery!
